Meet the Team

  • Alice Garfield

    Read Bio

Having spent much of her childhood rolling around in the mud at Caradoc, Alice started working here full time in June 2023. Alice’s main role is looking after the sheep and cows but she can be found helping out with almost all aspects of the farm. With a degree in Bioveterinary Science and many seasons lambing under her belt she’s a bit of an expert on animal health. Alice is a keen and fearless rider and has volunteered at many a Pony Club Camp and fun ride, often as the photographer.

Alice can tell you the names of almost every single cow, can tell you the names of most horses before the names of their owners, and spends a lot of time putting escapee sheep back where they’re meant to be, Clarkson’s Farm style.

  • Dreda Darling

    Read Bio

The Darling family moved to Caradoc in 1997. The farm has since fallen into the hands of Dreda (born that same year).

When not on the farm Dreda works for the Wye and Usk Foundation as a Farm Advisor. She has a BSc in Zoology and an MSc in Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture. As such she is passionate about nature and conservation (in particular dung beetles and earthworms) and is trying to farm in a regenerative way that champions both nature and the production of nutritious food.

Dreda has fourteen nieces and nephews between the ages of one and sixteen who all make excellent helpers on the farm.

  • Robin Fisher

    Read Bio

Robin loves being out in the field looking for animals, usually with camera in hand. He met Dreda whilst living in Falmouth also studying his zoology degree and since then completed a masters in wildlife filmmaking.

When he’s not away in some far flung country halfway up a tree he can usually be found in/on/near water with a surfboard. But when he’s not there he can be almost spotted camouflaged on the riverbank looking out for otters or for his namesake, kingfishers.

Robin helps out on the farm in a variety of ways including planting trees and hedges, moving livestock and coppicing in the woods and is hoping to help with lots of plans to make Caradoc even more wildlife friendly such as building nest boxes and otter holts.
